A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Katlabodi of Kondhali forest range in Katol tehsil, Where a shepherd who had gone to graze was attacked by a tiger. In this attack the shepherd died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Amol Ambadas Mangabhate. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the officials of Kondhali Forest Range reached the spot.
The deceased Amol went out to graze his animals on Saturday. When he did not return till night, his family members and villagers started searching for him in the forest. During this time, forest officials of Kondhali forest range had also been informed. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was recovered around 2 am in night.
The villagers have started protesting over the dead body, demanding the capture of the tiger as soon as possible and compensation to the victim’s family. Forest department officials kept convincing the villagers to take the body for post-mortem, but the villagers refused to listen to them.
Former home minister and MLA Anil Deshmukh talked to the villagers and explained to them, only then people calmed down and allowed the body to be sent for post-mortem. After some time, Deshmukh himself reached the spot and met the victim’s premises and assured to provide all possible help.
