From November 23 to 26, Nagpur will host a multi-sport Orange Olympics School Sports Championship event, which is being organized by Khelo Nagpur in collaboration with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU).
The Nagpur District Table Tennis Association, Nagpur District Badminton Association, and Nagpur District Athletics Association will oversee the event. ‘Well Played’ will be the event’s technology partner.
“In keeping with the Government of India’s Khelo India initiative, the Khelo Nagpur school championship will take place at the varsity grounds from November 23–26. Table tennis for boys and girls in the U13, U15, U17, and U19 singles; badminton for boys and girls in the same age groups but singles, doubles, and mixed doubles; and athletics for boys and girls in the U12, U14, U16, and U18 track events, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 200m, 1500m, and 4x100m relays are among the sports offered for the first year,” stated Divya Chawla, one of the founders of Khelo Nagpur and a certified yoga instructor.
“The event will be biggest annual, inter-school, multi-discipline, tech-enabled sports championship that Nagpur will witness,” said former cricket player and “Well Played” founder Ketan Kaore. There will be up to 700 competitors from 70 schools vying for 330 medals across 110 events. There are ten trophies available as well.
