Based on a cheating complaint from a man in this district of north Kerala, the police have filed a case against cricket player
S Sreesanth and two other individuals.
A resident of Choonda, the complainant claimed that Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, the accused, had stolen Rs 18.70 lakh on several occasions starting on April 25, 2019, under the pretense that they would establish a sports academy in Kollur, Karnataka, where Sreesanth is a partner.
Sreesanth and the other two individuals have been charged under IPC Section 420, which pertains to deceitfully obtaining property through cheating.
The third person named as an accused in the case is Sreesanth.
