V. Satish Kumar, Director (Marketing) , Indian Oil Corporation Limited , showcased the corporation’s unwavering commitment to global leadership in the LPG sector at the recently concluded 35th World LPG Association (WLPGA) Forum held in Rome during LPG Week. The event served as a vital platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and exploration of the latest trends and challenges in the LPG sector.
The 35th World LPG Association forum, themed ‘Just Energy’ brought together over 300 companies from more than 125 countries. The participation of IndianOil’s leadership at the 35th World LPG Association forum reflects the company’s commitment to driving positive change in the LPG industry through innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, all while maintaining a keen focus on environmental considerations. Shri Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, held the prestigious position of President of the World LPG Association (WLPGA) for two consecutive terms, further showcasing the company’s continued leadership and dedication to the global LPG sector.
During the event, Mr. V. Satish Kumar shared invaluable insights on crucial matters concerning the LPG industry. Alongside global energy CEOs and the Director of the World Health Organization, he emphasized LPG as a clean and environmentally friendly fuel option. Additionally, Mr. Kumar highlighted the role of LPG in reducing carbon footprint, contributing to a more sustainable future, and underscored its critical impact on family health.
Mr. V. Satish Kumar also drew attention to the success of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, a flagship initiative by the Government of India, aimed at providing access to cooking gas for every household, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. He noted that public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), including IndianOil, have collectively issued over 100 million LPG connections, underlining the initiative’s success in promoting health and mitigating indoor pollution.
In addition to focusing on the social impact of LPG, Mr. V. Satish Kumar also highlighted IndianOil’s commitment to technological innovation. He discussed the intersection of technology innovation and the social impact of adopting LPG, drawing attention to additives designed to enhance LPG efficiency and the introduction of tailored packages to meet diverse customer demands. Mr. V. Satish Kumar also emphasized IndianOil’s dedication to tech-driven solutions for optimizing production, reducing overall costs, and contributing to the energy transition.
Furthermore, Mr. Satish also shared updates on the ‘Global Biofuel Alliance’, an initiative spearheaded by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, positioning biofuels as a pivotal element in the country’s energy transition. He provided insights into the green renewables that IndianOil is actively developing and addressed queries from a global audience during the Industry Council meeting.
Apart from LPG, the IndianOil delegation also interacted on the evolving scenario as well as the future and challenges of AUTOGAS in India.
