State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Girish Mahajan presented DIVISIONAL Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari with the esteemed Maha Awas Abhiyan award in recognition of the Nagpur Division’s exceptional performance under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.
The Maha Awas Abhivan 2023–24 state-level workshop took place at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratisthan. Mumbai Auditorium, where the PM Awas Yojana 2021–2022 awards for the state’s top-performing department were given out. Among the dignitaries in attendance were Principal Secretary Eknath Dawle, Secretary KP Patil, and Director Dr. Rajaram Dighe.
Nagpur division secured the top position in the state by scoring 41.8 points in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, followed by Nashik and Pune divisions at second and third positions, respectively.
The Nagpur division under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana made remarkable progress, finishing 91.68 percent of the targeted houses. Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidri pledged to complete unfinished homes and guarantee that each recipient has a place to live. Sakoli tehsil, located in the Bhandara district, was ranked second in the State’s top tehsils.
In the category of best housing clusters, Tadgaon (Mohadi) in the Bhandara district came in first place, followed by Manjra (R) in the Chandrapur district and Budhla (Kalmeshwar) in the Nagpur district in second and third place.
