The Russian Supreme Court banned the International LGBT movement on Thursday and said that the activists should be called ‘extremists.Â
The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) people in Russia are under fear of being arrested and prosecuted. The apex court said that the Russian Justice Ministry requested to impose ban on the International LGBT Social Movement. The court banned activities of the movement within the territory of Russia. The move is seen as a part of restrictions imposed by the Kremlin on expression of sexual orientation and gender identity.
The UN Human Rights calls the situation in Russia from bad to worse for LGBT. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the West was welcome to adopt the strange trends. But has no right to impose them on others.
