In a resounding triumph, the Community Division of the Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre( SMHRC) has achieved a monumental feat by officially signing an MOU on Ashramshala Health Care services through the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra. This ground-breaking project, meticulously crafted by SMHRC, has received government approval, marking a momentous step towards elevating healthcare services in tribal communities. The collaborative effort, boosted by the invaluable support of SMHRC teammates specializing in Paediatrics, Dentistry, Psychiatry, and Respiratory Medicine is poised to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the tribal population.
The signed MOU grants SMHRC the authority to provide essential healthcare services to students residing in ashram shalas, which are residential schools established under the Tribal Welfare Department, with a specific focus on permissible sectors. The approval of this transformative project underscores the government’s commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and improving the overall quality of life for tribal communities.
Shri. Ravindra H. Thakare, I.A.S. Additional Tribal Commissioner, GOM thanked Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit , Minister of Tribal Development and Shri.Devendra Fadnavis , Deputy Chief Minister , GOM for facilitating this novel project in the interest of students from tribal communities . He added that by facilitating healthcare provisions in ashramshalas, where students often face unique health-related challenges, this initiative aims to create a more equitable healthcare landscape.
At the heart of this achievement lies the commitment and leadership of SMHRC Community Division headed by Dr. Naresh Gill, Deputy Director (Community Division) and Dr. Harshal Mendhe, Head of the Department, Community Medicine.
Dr. Anup Marar-SMHRC Director stated that the passion and persistence of SMHRC Community Division and proactive empathetic visionary leadership of Shri.Ravindra Thakare helped overcome challenges and navigate the complexities associated with such a pioneering initiative. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of the entire SMHRC team led by Dr.Vasant Gawande-Chief Medical Superintendent and Dr.Sudhir Singh, Assistant Medical Superintendent. It is added that 895 bedded multi super speciality SMHRC of Meghe Group has gained a distinct name for successful model execution of affordable quality health care services for the masses.
