The preliminary phase of the worldwide Kathak dance competition ‘Kathak Ashwamedha- 2023’ will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Ashoka Training Room, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of India, Nirzar Kala Sansthan, Guru Kundanlal Gangani Foundation, and Guru Sadhana Foundation are organizing the event. Online registration is available at www.nirzar.org. On-the-spot registration will also be accepted. The event is organized into two age groups: 12 to 25 and 26 to 40. Around 140 students will be chosen from the preliminary round, with the best seven dancers (from both groups) being chosen for the main finale. The organizers have encouraged pupils who are learning Kathak and professional Kathak dancers to participate.
