The Indian Government has issued additional security alerts this week, with the advisory released on December 13, directed at the users of Samsung Galaxy Phones. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) highlights a high-risk security advisory for both older and newer models of Samsung Galaxy Phone indicating multiple vulnerabilities that could potentially impact millions of Samsung Galaxy users.
CERT-In has identified vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to bypass security restrictions, access sensitive information, and execute arbitrary code on targeted systems. The security advisory stressed the urgent need for existing Samsung users to quickly update their phone’s operating system or firmware to reduce the risks associated with these security risks.
The weak spots in the device’s security could lead to various threats, including the potential theft of the phone’s secret code (SIM PIN), broadcasting loud commands with elevated privilege, accessing private AR Emoji files, manipulating the Knox Guard lock, snooping around arbitrary files, stealing sensitive information, executing arbitrary code.
CERT-In provides clear instructions for Samsung Galaxy users, urging prompt updates to the device’s operating system (OS) and firmware. Neglecting these crucial updates could provide hackers with opportunities to breach device security and gain unauthorized access to sensitive data. Samsung has issued a fix for these threats, and users are strongly advised to complete the updates at the earliest.
