Casualties gone up to 118
Beijing, 10 Dec (HS):- Another earthquake of the magnitude 5.5 on the Richter scale hit the Xinjiang region of China, the China Earthquake network Centre (CENC) reported on Tuesday.
The casualties in the earthquake that struck Gansu province has risen up to 118. The preliminary reports quoted a loss of 111 lives after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the Gansu-Qinghai border around midnight.
The rescue operations are in progress during the extreme cold weather in China. The region where the earthquake recorded minus 12 to minus 14 degree temperature.
