The sale of beer in the state has increased by 12 percent compared to the previous year and the government has received a revenue of 2 thousand 34 crores from excise duty.
Various efforts are being made by the excise department to increase the revenue income of the state. A committee has been constituted as per the government decision of 19 October to study the beer policies in the state and increase revenue. But the excise duty on beer has not been reduced. Amravati, Nagpur and Nanded divisions have not seen any decline in beer sales from April to October. a consultancy organization has been selected for implementation of track and trace system in the state after studying other modern systems in operation in other states.
