The Maharashtra forest department has decided not to charge entry fees and safari fees for high court and district court judges when they visit national parks, tiger reserves, and wildlife sanctuaries in the state. Maheep Gupta, the state’s chief wildlife warden, issued orders on Tuesday instructing all field directors of tiger reserves to implement these measures. The directive also emphasizes extending a warm welcome to judges during their visits, assigning a forester to accompany them. Field directors are tasked with ensuring that judges experience no inconvenience during their visits to Tadoba, Sahyadri, Melghat, Pench, Bor, and Navegaon-Nagzira tiger reserves, where each safari costs around Rs 5,000.
