Nagpur’s international archer Ojas Deotale has got another big achievement. Ojas will be honored with the Arjuna Award for his stellar performance. He will be given this award by the President on January 9 in Delhi.
The Sports Ministry announced the athletes honored with this year’s Arjuna Award. among these, 26 athletes including 21-year-old international archer Ojas Deotale will be given the Arjuna Award. This National Sports Award will be handed over to President Draupadi Murmu in a special ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 9 January 2024. Let us tell you here that the current season of Ojas has been fantastic. He started it with the World Archery Championship held in Berlin.
Ojas is the first Indian compound archer to become world champion by scoring 150 out of 150 in the 92-year history of the Archery World Cup. After this, Ojas’s magic was seen in the Asian Games where he scored a hat-trick of gold medals in team, mixed and individual categories in compound archery. Being honored with a prestigious award like Arjuna Award is a matter of great pride not only for Ojas but also for the city sports.
