A case of extortion of 40,000 per week from a doctor by threatening to kill him has come to light. This incident took place in Shivangaon under Sonegaon police station. Police have identified the accused as Alok Arvind Meshram (40) of Bezonbagh, Jaripatka and Ashwin Ramesh Tangde (35) of Sugat Nagar, Jaripatka.
An extortion case involving threats to a doctor’s life for withdrawing 40,000 from ATM has come to light. The incident occurred in Shivangaon, within the jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station. The accused individuals have been identified as Alok Arvind Meshram (40) from Bezonbagh, Jaripatka, and Ashwin Ramesh Tangde (35) from Sugat Nagar, Jaripatka.
Dr. Gajanan Pawane, a 53-year-old doctor who lives in MIG Colony, Medical Square, has a clinic in Shivangaon where his son also practices. On the night of December 16, as Dr. Pawane was closing his clinic, the accused arrived in a car. Alok told the doctor that he needed to pay Rs two lakh, or else Alok would harm his family members. They asked Dr. Pawane to get into their car, but feeling threatened, he chose to stay in his own car. Seeing this, Alok forcibly entered Dr. Pawane’s car, took his mobile phone, turned it off, and started threatening Dr. Pawane.
The accused Alok Meshram and Ashwin Tangade demanded Rs. 2 lakh by threatening him. They had also managed to extort Rs. 40,000 from the doctor. The duo has been arrested by Sonegaon Police.
