On Wednesday, during Karnataka’s Cooch Behar Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Samit, the son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, dazzled for his team. With an innings and 130 runs, the 18-year-old led Karnataka to victory with an amazing knock of 98. In addition to his batting prowess, Samit is a competent bowler and took three wickets against J&K. Samit was seen displaying some beautiful cover drives in a viral video that brought back memories of his father’s approach.
While away from national duty, Rahul Dravid was recently spotted at Samit’s Cooch Behar Trophy match against Uttarakhand. In the meantime, the BCCI extended the contracts of support personnel and head coach Rahul Dravid of the Indian men’s cricket team.
The former captain of India reportedly received several offers from Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, but he chose to stay on as the men’s national team’s head coach. Following the contract renewal, the tour of South Africa will be his first assignment.
