The “Sports for Change District Level Tournament 2023” came to an exciting close with an engaging football tournament held at Mankapur Stadium, Nagpur. This collaborative initiative by Krida Vikas Sanstha (Slum Soccer) and HCL Foundation, under the ‘Pitch for Progress’ program, actively engaged approximately 1500 participants in sports like Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball, and Athletics across NMC schools in Nagpur.
In Athletics competition at Mankapur Stadium more than 180 participants from NMC and aided schools of Nagpur, Umred, and Saoner showcased their skills in events such as sprint (60 meters & 600 meters), long jump, high jump, shotput, and ball throw.
In the Kabaddi competition at Ramcooler Chowk, Mahal, witnessed intense battles with 29 teams in both girls and boys categories. Sanjay Nagar School triumphed in the girls’ category, while Vidya Sadan Jaitala School emerged victorious among the boys. Whereas the Kho-Kho competition at Ramcooler Chowk featured 14 teams in both girls and boys categories. Priyadarshani School clinched victories in both categories, showcasing outstanding teamwork.
Fourteen teams competed in the Volleyball category at Samarth Vyam Shala Ground. Banarasidas Ruiya High School Katol secured victories in both girls and boys categories, displaying exceptional sportsmanship.
The Carrom competition held at MAK Azad School saw the participation of over 50 enthusiastic players. Hindustan School triumphed in the girls’ category, while Vishakha School emerged victorious among the boys.
The football competition at Mankapur Stadium featured 16 teams in girls and boys categories. Vishakha High School claimed victory in the boys’ category, while Hindustan Vidyalay emerged as champions in the girls’ category. This district-level sports showcased the remarkable talent and sportsmanship of more than 1000 participants.
