Ajay Jayaram, a former international shuttler and Dutch Open champion, will be the guest of honor at the SJAN-Raisoni Achievers Annual Awards Function on January 6 at 10.30 a.m. at the Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines. In keeping with tradition, SJAN will recognize athletes for their sports promotion, including senior and junior (male and female) athletes, sports organizers, and the best school and college. The recipients’ names will be announced shortly.
A two-time Dutch Open champion, peaked at number 13 in June of 2017. Jayaram, who was born in Chennai on September 28, 1987, began playing badminton at the age of seven and has had a successful professional career spanning more than 20 years. In addition to winning other BWF competitions like the Czech International, Jayaram won the Dutch Open twice (in 2014 and 2015) during his playing career.
