For the past few weeks, New Delhi has been covered in dense fog, creating difficulties for both locals and travelers. While the fog provides a cozy atmosphere indoors, it has led to disruptions in transportation. More than 134 flights to and from Delhi both within the country and to other countries, are experiencing delays.
According to media reports, In Maharashtra, especially in Pune, the fog from North India, particularly Delhi, is causing problems for air travel. The latest information shows that nine flights were canceled at Pune Airport on Thursday, December 28th, due to the air traffic disruptions caused by dense fog in New Delhi. According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), four flights scheduled to depart from Pune to Delhi were canceled until 12 noon. Flights from Delhi to Pune are also delayed, causing inconvenience for travelers. This situation is affecting departures to other airports like Hyderabad, Goa, Lucknow, and Amritsar that connect to Pune.
The transportation chaos doesn’t end there. Over 22 trains are running behind schedule due to the fog in Delhi. Subhash, a passenger, expressed frustration, stating, “Many trains are delayed. Eight trains expected to arrive last night are still pending. Those supposed to arrive this morning are running 3-4 hours late, and there’s uncertainty about their arrival time.” The dense fog in Delhi is not only impacting visibility but also causing disruptions for 134 flights and delays for 22 trains.
