Bajaj Auto is poised to initiate the New Year with the launch of the updated Chetak electric scooter. Set to be unveiled on January 9, the 2024 Chetak brings forth a host of alterations to both its design and mechanics. Earlier this month, the manufacturer introduced the 2024 Chetak Urbane variant, with the forthcoming model expected to integrate a majority of the enhancements featured in the top-tier Chetak Premium variant.
Leaked documents reveal notable upgrades anticipated in the 2024 Bajaj Chetak, setting it apart from the Urbane model. One of the key improvements includes a larger 3.2 kWh battery pack, extending the estimated range to 127 km on a single charge, compared to the existing 2.88 kWh battery offering a 113 km range. The charging time for the upgraded battery is projected to be approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes for a full charge.
The 2024 Bajaj Chetak is also expected to deliver better performance, with a higher top speed of 73 kmph compared to the current model’s 63 kmph. Another significant update is the introduction of a new TFT screen, replacing the current round LCD unit. This advanced display is anticipated to offer features like turn-by-turn navigation, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), remote lock/unlock, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
Rumors also suggest an increase in the under-seat storage capacity from the existing 18 liters to 21 liters, providing users with more space for their belongings.
