For the past decade, the youth of Nagpur have rung in the New Year in a unique and heartening way at Government Medical College (GMC) Nagpur. In their 10th annual initiative, the group distributed over 600 fruit kits to patients in various wards, including Gynac, children’s, and others, on the morning of January 1, 2024.
Each kit with apples, bananas, pomegranate, chiku, biscuits, Bournvita, chikki, and guavas, were packed the day before the distribution to bring joy and health to those in need. The act of giving, rooted in the group’s commitment to service over fame, has become a symbol of collective compassion. Several donors contributed anonymously, while others gave in memory of their fathers’ birthdays or in honor of departed loved ones. The organizers express gratitude to all contributors and encourage the broader community to embrace this spirit of giving. “As we mark the 10th year, our focus is on making giving back a way of life and celebration. We urge people to join us in spreading joy and continue this tradition in the years to come,” said a spokesperson.
