IIM Nagpur has prepared a District Strategic Plan for Nagpur district. This plan has been made to accelerate economic activities by increasing investment in the district. In this plan, both the weak and strong aspects of the district in economic development have been highlighted. This report shows that Nagpur’s share in the state’s economy is five percent. At present, the GDP of Nagpur is Rs 1 lakh 53 thousand crore, how can it be taken to Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand crore by the year 2027-28. This report shows the way.
The central government has set a target of taking the country’s economy to Rs 5 trillion by the financial year 2027-28. To achieve this goal, different states of the country have set targets to develop their respective economies. Maharashtra is one of the major states of the country from the industrial point of view, hence the Central Government has set the target of becoming a 1 trillion economy for Maharashtra.
To achieve this goal, the state government has decided to prepare a strategic plan for every district. The District Strategic Plan for Nagpur has been prepared by the Indian Institute of Management. This report says that to meet the figure of Nagpur’s share in the state’s economy, its Gross District Domestic Product, which is Rs 1 lakh 53 thousand crore, will have to be taken to Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand.
