Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has asked officials to devise district-wise tourism circuit master plans for Nagpur Division, with an assurance of state funds for development. During a virtual meeting evaluating the draft district annual plans for the six districts in Nagpur Division for 2024-25, Pawar expressed concern over the 39.41% utilization of the allocated Rs 1,423 crore ceiling for district plans. Despite proposed annual plans totaling Rs 1,506 crore, including an Rs 83 crore provision for urban areas, there’s an additional demand of Rs 4,598 crore. Pawar emphasized the need for essential infrastructure for tourism, urging the Divisional Commissioner to prepare a comprehensive tourism circuit development plan. He also encouraged private sector investment in Nagpur Division industries and prioritized schemes for income enhancement, assuring adequate funds. The meeting included Guardian Ministers, District Collectors, and officials briefing Pawar on annual plans.
