The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav which begins on January 12 will have 55 sports events, which will be held at 65 grounds.
The sports events being held with the initiative of MP from Nagpur and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is aimed at offering opportunities for budding sportspersons to showcase their talent and later compete at state, national and international levels.
About 65,000 sportspersons will participate in the event to compete for 12,300 medals and cash prizes worth Rs 1,3500,000 and 1,100 trophies. A total of 2,325 teams have registered for the event, which will be monitored by 4,800 officials.
The competitions will be haled in different sports events including Marathon running, Kho Kho, Athletics, Kabaddi, Basketball, Tennis ball cricket, Bridge, Professional cricket, Judo, Badminton, Keather ball cricket, Sepak Takra, Archery, Rifel Shooting, Equestrian, Football, Mallakhamb, Taek Won Do, Tug of War, Box Cricket for girls, Wrestling, table tennis, Wushu, Sports events for the Persons with Disabilities, Boxing, Swimming, Arm Wrestling, Hockey, Skating, Cycling, Body Building, Yogasan, Footsal, Atya Patya, Carrom, Mini Golf, Karate, chess, Throw Ball etc.
