The struggle of Marathwada for freedom from Nizam’s rule and stories of brave historians from the region will be screened for the first time in the Asian Film Festival. The film will be screened at Citylight Cinema in Mahim, Mumbai at 12 noon on January 13.
The film was made with the initiative of Maharashtra’s Minister for Cultural Affairs Sudhir Mungantiwar. The film titled ‘Muktisangram: Katha Marathwadachya Sangharshachi’ was made by the Cultural Department of Maharashtra Government and Stage and Cultural Development Corporation. Digpal Lanjekar is the director of the film. Ajay Purkar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Adinath Kothare, Sameer Vidwans,, Vikram Gaikwad, Smita Shewale and others are the actors in different roles.
The script is based on Selected Correspondence of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Hyderabadcha Muktisangram ani Marathwada and other books.
