Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the MRO of AAR-Indamer today at Mihan SEZ. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was present as the chief guest on this occasion. AAR Indamer is a joint venture between AAR, a major MRO of USA and Indamer, the oldest MRO in the country. A state-of-the-art facility of the joint venture is located in the MIHAN SEZ. These developments position MIHAN SEZ as a major MRO hub and contribute to the growth of a robust and self-sufficient aerospace ecosystem in the country.
Under the Modi government’s initiative to establish India as an aviation hub, the country now provides comprehensive MRO facilities. Previously, even minor rectifications or MRO-related work required Indian aircraft to undergo checks abroad before flying to Western countries. India has now achieved historical milestones by offering these services domestically.
AAR Indamer provieds Commercial aviation MRO as Componment repair, Air Frame, Landing gear and Engineering Services Services to aircrafts. these MRO also provide services like Structure Shop- Sheet Metal and Composite Repairs such as Flight Hour Support, Consumables and expendables Aggregator Digital Services, Airinmar, Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and performance Based Logistics (PBL). These MRO also facilitated cabin Shop -Seats and plastic Repairs as well as Aircraft Painting.
AAR-Indamer(MRO), Director, Prajay Patel said, “Our target is to do maintenance of foreign aircrafts along with Local aircrafts. The local aviation ecosystem will also get a boost. We are also planning for training institute, we have achieved 100 C -check milestones. Local infrastructure, local vendors suppliers has realised their is market here, along with those material which comes from from abroad, local Procurement is also done”.
Prajay said “We will have a much robust aviation ecosystem in decades time”. He also said that “The development of airport sector is something which is government is Prioritize, their are amazing numbers of airports.
Senior Vice President AAR Rahul Shah said “MRO industry has a very bullish perspective. Indian airlines traffic is expected to expand three to four times in next 10 years. India is economically growing in a big way. He said, “There are lot of aircraft Purchase taking place in india. Indigo has ordered 500 aircraft, Air India is 470 other airlines are also ordered, you can see 1250 aircrafts coming in india”.
This inauguration comes on the heels of another significant development in Nagpur’s MRO landscape. Just recently, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched an Indamer-Airbus Helicopters MRO facility at MIHAN.
