The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court on Friday ordered the Cyber Crime Department and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board to take legal action against Facebook.
Earlier, the court had directed Facebook to stop the online sale of nylon manja. Later, when the case came up for hearing on Friday, the court did not get proper cooperation from Facebook. As a result, the court reprimanded Facebook and gave this order. The state environment department has issued a notification on March 1, 2023, banning the sale, manufacture, stock, supply and use of nylon manja impregnated with glass powder, metal or any other sharp substance along with nylon sheath. So to fly a kite it is necessary to use only a simple cotton thread. However, nylon manja are being sold online and illegally. As a result, the court has taken a strong stand.
