In a vibrant celebration of Makar Sankranti, students from Grade Pre-Nursery to Grade VII at DPS Kamptee engaged in various activities, fostering a culturally enriched educational environment.
The younger students, Grades Pre-Nursery, Preparatory, Grade I, and II, delved into the festivities through a ‘Kite Making Activity.’ Engaging in artistic pursuits such as crafting, sketching, and doodling, they expressed themselves freely and discovered their inner talents. A video presentation enlightened them about the significance of the Makar Sankranti festival, incorporating cultural elements and encouraging discussions for a holistic learning experience.
Grade Nursery students participated in an ‘Alphabet Doodling Activity,’ creatively connecting the word ‘kite’ to the day’s significance. Meanwhile, Grades I and VII took a more informative approach, presenting assemblies that covered the history, global celebration, cultural significance, and environmental impact of Makar Sankranti. The well-executed presentations and a theatrical skit provided insights into traditions and customs, entertaining and enlightening the audience.
Ms. Yogeeta Umalkar, Principal, DPS Kamptee, Nagpur, commended the students for their efforts in creating a vibrant and culturally enriched educational atmosphere. These events not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talents but also facilitated the sharing of cultural knowledge and expressions of gratitude within the educational community.
