2024 Students from 23 universities participating in 5 sporting events next three days – Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, and Table Tennis
“I learned that all the universities of Maharashtra participate in Krida Mahotsav. I never seen such an even in any other state; its unique. I will try to do this in Haryana.”, said Padmashree Dr Sunil Dabas, Coach, National Women’s Kabaddi Team. She was addressing the inauguration ceremony of 25th Maharashtra State Inter-University Sports Festival ‘Krida Mahotsav’ at the Sports Complex of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University on Friday.
While addressing as the chief guest and inaugurator of the festival, Dr Sunil Dabas, a Dronacharya awardee, flared up the gusto of young players and shared her success mantras.“Determine your goal, devote yourself to it with discipline, keep doing self-analysis and be self-motivated”, she said after the event flame was lit.
Ojas Deotale, Ritika Thaker, Sanjana Joshi, Alfiya Pathan, Vaibhav Shrirame, Jayant Duble and Prateek Mopkar, the players who brought laurels to city were felicitated during the ceremony with an event memento. 2024 students from 23 universities from all across Maharashtra who will be playing next three days in 5 sporting events – Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, and Table Tennis – taken the oath of sporting spirit.
Dr Subhash Chaudhari, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, mentioned the rich legacy of Nagpur University in sports education in his presidential speech. Speaking earlier, Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports & Physical Education, RTMNU given brief highlights of the infrastructure developed by the university for this event. Dr Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-VC, RTMNU also addressed. Dr Raju Hiwase, Registrar, RTMNU proposed a vote of thanks. The league matches started today. Following the qualifiers and semi-finals, the finals of all five sporting events will be held on 15th Jan. All the 2024 participants will take out a AIDS awareness rally on the morning of 16th JAN followed by the closing ceremony where the winners will be awarded
