Senior Engineer Mr. Mahendra Domaji Bagde of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), Armori (Rural) office, Gadchiroli, was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500. The accused, aged 36, allegedly demanded the bribe from an agriculturist complainant in Mouza Sonpura Survey No. 22, Mauje Vairagad, Tah. Armori, Dist. Gadchiroli.
The complainant reported the incident, accusing Mr. Bagde of seeking a Rs 5,000 bribe to manipulate records related to an electrification survey where four electric poles were indicated, but only three were installed. A discreet operation led by Police Deputy Superintendent Ms. Anamika Mirzapur and Police Sub-Inspector Mr. P. N. Shivaji Rathod exposed the accused’s demand and acceptance of Rs. 1,500. The ongoing investigation, overseen by Police Superintendent Mr. Rahul Maknikar and Additional Police Superintendent Mr. Sachin Kadam, involves a dedicated team from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gadchiroli.
