An official stated that the Gita Press is unable to meet the increased demand for the holy book ahead of the January 22 Ram temple consecration ceremony, thus it will permit free downloads of the Ramcharitmanas from its website.
The Gita Press was founded in 1923 and is one of the biggest publishers in the world. Lalmani Tripathi, the manager of the press, claims that the company has released 95 crore books in 15 languages.
The Gandhi Peace Prize-winning publisher, headquartered in Gorakhpur, operates bookshops all over the nation.
In 2022, he provided a comparison, stating that approximately 75,000 copies of the Ramcharitmanas had been printed and distributed. The demand for the book has skyrocketed ever since the date of the “Pran Prathistha” at the Ram temple in Ayodhya was revealed, he claimed.
“We are now publishing the Gita Press website with the Ramcharitmanas. It will be available for free download on Tuesday. Up to 50,000 people will be able to download over the 15 days that we will be offering this service,” Tripathi stated.
