Actor Ranvir Shorey criticized IndiGo Airlines on Monday for a distressing encounter during a flight delay lasting over 10 hours. Shorey detailed his ordeal on social media, alleging the airline of inadequate communication, providing incorrect information, and lacking transparency about the delay’s causes.
Mr. Shorey has claimed that when he and seven others arrived at the airport for their 2 pm flight, IndiGo Airlines notified them of a three-hour delay due to foggy weather conditions, just two hours before departure. Despite their initial awareness of weather-related delays, Mr. Shorey alleges that the situation escalated as the departure time was changed multiple times without clear explanations.
“Still, we did not complain, thinking there must have been a communication issue and were completely understanding, as we were aware that at this time of the year, these things happen sometimes,” Mr Shorey wrote on social media.
Mr. Shorey also claimed discrepancies in the information provided by the airline staff. He alleged that the aircraft, reported to be coming from Kolkata, an airport not experiencing fog issues, had already arrived in Bangalore.
The actor, known for roles in popular films like “Khosla Ka Ghosla” and “Bheja Fry,” expressed his intention to file a complaint against IndiGo Airlines for the distressing experience he and his fellow passengers endured.
In the past two days, both Delhi and Mumbai airports experienced numerous flight delays attributed to dense fog conditions in northern India.
