The annual Royal Premier Cricket League (RPCL) Season 8 will begin on January 18 and be hosted by the Dr. Sandeep Shinde’s Babuji Foundation & Hajiyani Zubeda Abdul Razzak Charitable Trust. At 7 p.m. on the Mecosabagh Methodist School grounds in Kadbi Chowk, district collector Dr. Vipin Itankar and a former corporator officially opened the tournament. Shubham Dubey, the recently selected IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals’ sensational new cricketer from Vidarbha, will also grace the occasion.
The inaugural function will also feature Dr. Sandeep Shinde, the director of the Babuji Foundation, former corporator Vicky Kukreja, MD of Barde Group Naresh Badre, RR manager Romi Bhinde, and other distinguished guests.
The top 32 teams have verified their participation in the competition. The competition will follow a league-cum knock-out format. Eight groups are formed from the teams. The top two teams advance to the elimination stages. A cash prize of Rs 2 lakh will be awarded to the tournament winner, and Rs 1 lakh to the runners-up. In addition to these individual awards, there will be other awards, such as man of the match in each game.
