Nagpur Municipal Corporation has set up an EV Cell to promote Electric Vehicles. The step has been taken to reduce pollution caused due to traditional vehicles running on petrol and diesel.
A meeting to discuss the issue was convened by the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari. Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goel, Deputy Commissioner Suresh Bagle and other officers were present. The EV cell has been formed to achieve the EV Policy 2021 of the State Government. The Cell will have representatives from various departments concerned including MSEDCL, NIT, Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation, RTO etc.
A Readiness Plan for promoting Electrical Vehicles is being prepared.
A workshop ‘City EV Accelerator’ will be held at Hotel Radisson Blu, at 10 am on January 20. The workshop will be attended by prominent persons from the government, private sector and social organisations.
