For the first time, the ‘Mahasanskriti Mahotsav’ is being organized in all the districts of the state on behalf of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Maharashtra and in coordination with the district administration. This Mahasanskriti festival starts from Ramtek, the land of Kalidasa and will be inaugurated on Friday, January 19 at Nehru Maidan, Ramtek at 7 pm.
Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar appealed to attend this program which will be held for five days. A five-day MahaSanskriti Mahotsav has been organized in every district of the state to share the culture of different regions of the state, a platform for local artists, preservation and conservation of the disappearing art and culture, as well as information about the known and unknown fighters of the freedom struggle. This festival starts from Ramtek, the land of poet Kalidasa, which has a historical background.
The five-day festival to be held at Nehru Maidan in Ramtek from 19th to 23rd January will provide an experience of song, music and drama to the lovers and the participation of artists of international fame.
These programs will be held in two sessions for five days. In the morning session, enlightenment seminar on Kavi kalidas, demonstration of Mahakhichdi by famous chef Vishnu Manohar, laser show, fire show, boat competition, photography and painting competition, skating competition, aeromodelling show, food festival etc. will be organised.
The main events of the evening session will start at 7 PM. Ramayana dance drama by Padmashri Hema Malini will be performed on January 19 on the inauguration day. On January 20th, Padmashri Suresh Wadekar, the king of tunes, will sing songs, on January 21st, a devotional program by Hansraj Raghuvanshi, on January 22nd, Sindhuragiri Mahanatya on Ramtek, and on January 23rd, a concert by famous singer Padmashri Kailash Kher will be held.
