Bar Headed Goose were seen in the Irai Dam region of Chandrapur district. The migratory birds visit the place every year.
About 24 flocks of these birds were seen by the bird watchers. They travel upto 4,000 Km and migrate from Himalayan region, Kashmir, Ladakh, Europe, Central Asia, Siberia, Manolia, Russia and other places in search of better environment, food and laying eggs and stay there till the egs are hatched.
Irai dam region gets about 350 species of migratory birds every year during winter season. They can fly at a height of about 8,000 mters and travel long distance in search of better habitat.
