In a captivating musical endeavor, Nagpur’s talented Watkar sisters, Bhagyashree and Dhanashree, are poised to grace Ayodhya on January 22 with their celestial voice, invoking the Lord with the mystical hymn — ‘Hum Katha Sunate Ram Sakal Gun Dhaam ki’.
This special invitation comes from the Uttar Pradesh cultural department, recognizing the sisters’ exceptional talent and significant cultural contributions. Trained in classical music since their early years, Bhagyashree and Dhanashree have garnered attention with their soulful renditions. Their journey began in the humble village of Kachari Sawanga in Katol tehsil, Nagpur, as the daughters of a small businessman, Sunil Watkar.
The talented duo came under the spotlight during their stellar performances at the Ram temple ‘bhoomipujan’ in 2020 and Ayodhya Deepotsav in 2021, catching the keen interest of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Born from grassroots musical training, their journey includes accolades from reality shows, turning them into rising stars.
Their participation in the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple adds another significant chapter to the evolving and inspiring story of Bhagyashree and Dhanashree Watkar.
