City police have busted a sex racket operating covertly within a salon and spa in Dharampeth. Rohit, alias Bunty Khedkar (33), the owner of a family salon in Dharampeth, was arrested in connection with the illicit activities. The salon, posing as a legitimate establishment, had cabins for ‘spa services,’ wherein unsuspecting clients were enticed into illicit transactions.
Acting on information, Zone II DCP Rahul Madane directed a special team to take action. Undercover officers posed as customers, striking a deal with Bunty, leading to a raid when money exchanged hands. A 25-year-old victim, hailing from a struggling family background, was rescued during the operation. Despite the proximity of the salon to Gokulpeth market, the discovery of a clandestine prostitution den in the area has raised concerns. This marks the second such racket busted within the past four days.
