NMC to get Rs 208 crore
A commercial complex in place of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Sokhta Bhavan in Gandhibag has been proposed. NMC has started the process of floating tenders for the construction of the commercial complex in place of Sokhta Bhavan, which is a dilapidated condition. The bidder will be allowed to design, build, finance, operate, and sale terms.
The Maharashtra Government’s Town Planning Department has cleared the proposal of construction on the 6,353 SqM plot. The project advisor and architect submitted the proposal and got the clearance. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr Abhijit Chaudhari cleared the proposal.
A construction of 28922.20 Sqm with a three-floor parking slot for 283 cars, 566 scooters and 566 cycles will be made available. On the seventh floor, a community hall of 600 seats will be made. The estimated cost of construction is Rs 207.98 crore and will have to be completed within three years. The NMC will get at least Rs 224 crore from the project, which is to be paid in four yearly installments.
