Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited Nagpur has received the Award of Excellence for being a leader in creating ‘Healthy Streets in Cities of India’ at a two-day national workshop jointly organized by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Smart City Mission and Pimpri-Chinchwad Smart City.
The award was presented by Kunal Kumar, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Nagpur Smart City Environment Department and Streets for People Challenge Nodal Officer Dr. pranitha Umredkar accepted the award. 15 leading cities of the country including Nagpur were selected out of 29 cities in the “India Cycle for Change and Streets for People Challenge Phase-2”. Nagpur has been awarded the Excellence Award for leading the way in developing a healthy road policy, institutional building and capacity building at the city level as well as creating a role model for improving the city’s healthy road infrastructure to improve the road network in Nagpur city.
