An employee of the Ordnance Factory, Bhandara died in a blast that occurred on Saturday morning. The authorities have formed a three-member committee to enquire into the accident.
Local police identified the deceased as Avinash Meshram (52), who reached the factory in the morning shift. The blast was heard around 8.15 am from the HEX Department of the Ordnance Factory, located at Jawaharnagar, on the outskirts of Bhandara in Maharashtra. Avinash Meshram was found motionless after the blast. He was rushed to a hospital by other employees, where the doctors declared him dead. The factory authorities have also started necessary action to give compensation to the family opf the deceased. The company will also finalise the pension for the family.
Assistant Inspector of Police from Jawaharnagar Sudhir Borkute said that the deceased was a resident of Gondia district. Bhandara District Collector Yogesh Kumbhejkar said a senior officer of the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health has been directed to visit the accident site.
