The Ramdaspeth bridge will be open for traffic from February 2. A portion of the bridge collapsed due to heavy rains in Nagpur in August 2022, after which the Nagpur Municipal Corporation floated a tender to demolish the entire bridge as a precautionary measure and rebuild it. The construction of this bridge started in October 2022. Now, starting from February 2, a part of this bridge will be open for traffic. The construction company has informed that the second part will start from February 28.
Due to the closure of this bridge near the university library, the citizens had to endure a lot of inconvenience. Due to the increased traffic in the inner part of the Ramdaspeth area, local citizens staged various agitations for the immediate completion of the bridge work. Various political parties also supported this demand. Finally, the much-awaited work on this bridge has been completed, and soon, the bridge will be fully open to the public.
