Senior stage and film actor of Marathi and Hindi movies Ashok Saraf has been selected for the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan Award.
The announcement was made by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday. His name was considered for recommendation for the Padma Shri Award last year but was not selected. Shinde himself talked to Saraf on the telephone and congratulated him on his selection for the Award for the year 2023.
A doyen in Marathi stage and film, Ashok Saraf played lead roles and also acted as comedian and character roles including villain in many Marathi and Hindi films.
