Two businessmen were robbed of Rs 2 crore and were beaten by the robbers on Tuesday night. The businessmen were going to Surat in Gujarat in a car.
According to the police, the three robbers followed their car and made them to halt near Kotewada village under the jurisdiction of Hingna Police in Nagpur district. Teams of Hingna police are on the lookout for the robbers in all directions. Police are also enquiring with the businessmen about carrying such a huge sum with them.
The incident occurred barely two days after an SBI ATM was broken using a metal cutter and over Rs 1 lakhs were looted.
With the growing crime in the home district of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the issue of security is being questioned.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the money looted belonged to a travel company.
