A total of 2 lakh 45 thousand 836 passengers traveled from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport from January 1 to December 31, 2023. Out of that 1 lakh 23 thousand 202 passengers came to Nagpur while 1 lakh 22 lakh 634 passengers went to other places from Nagpur. The airport earned a revenue of Rs 95.24 crore from operations.
Nagpur Airport is managed by Mihan India Limited (MIL), a Maharashtra Airport Development Company. During the year, a total of 2,45,836 passengers stayed at the airport. Abhay Kolarkar was informed under the Right to Information Act-2005 that MIL received Rs 24.17 crore in landing fees, Rs 24 lakh in parking fee, Rs 51.66 crore in form of user development fees and Rs 19.17 crore in business fees.
According to the information given to Kolarkar by Mihan India Limited, a total of 1195 private planes and helicopters landed at the airport last year. Through this, a revenue of 99.44 lakhs was received during the year. 6 crore 7 lakh 70 thousand 629 rupees were spent on security. During the year, a total of 9 planes landed in emergency situations.
There are no parking and waiting charges in the departure zone. Arrival at the pickup area and zero to 5 minutes free waiting and pickup time. Also there is no free waiting and parking time in general car parking. However waiting, parking time and fees apply in each zone. The RTI said that the revenue received by MIL through this has not been audited.
