The anti-vehicle theft squad of Crime Branch has arrested a vicious thief who was stealing two-wheelers from the city and taking them to rural areas and disposing of them. Till now the police have recovered 111 two-wheelers from this thief. This thief used to work for an auto dealer by profession, he started stealing cars and selling them.
The incidence of two-wheeler theft had increased significantly in Nagpur city for some time. A similar case of theft was registered under Wadi police station. after checking the CCTV cameras in the city, the police kept vigil on all the suspected places of theft. The accused was seen in CCTV cameras in several incidents.
After which, following clues obtained from dump data and CCTV footage, this 24-year-old youth named Lokesh Bhonge has been arrested by the police from Kondhali. Lokesh is originally from warud Amravati. So far, the police have recovered 111 two-wheelers at the behest of the accused. The accused had stolen 28 two-wheelers from Nagpur city and 21 from Nagpur rural.
There is information that 85 theft cases have been registered against this vicious thief in about 9 districts of Vidarbha. Earlier the accused used to work in buying and selling old vehicles in an auto deal company and after the love marriage, he started living in a rented room in Kondhali and due to bad financial condition, he started committing thefts and crimes.
