A case of fraud of Rs 1.84 Crore has been registered against 3 people including a couple resident of Kerala in the name of partnership in petrol pump.The accused has been identified as Vijay Pillai, Vijayakumari Pillai and Nazim Haneefa Rother, residents of Kannankuzhi Muri, District Alappuzha, Kerala.
Latish, a resident of Telangkhedi, told the police in his complaint that the accused promised him 30 percent dividend by investing in a petrol pump in the year 2012. Latish believed and invested but till date the accused have not given him any dividend. When asked to return their invested amount, the accused started procrastinating.
Till date, a total of Rs 1.84 crore including investment and dividends was to be returned. Seeing Latish’s increasing pressure, the accused gave him two cheques. After both the checks bounced in the bank, Latish lodged a complaint with the police. Police filed the case and started investigations. The case was handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing.
