The metro train was stopped
middle of the track to save the life of a parrot. this unique way of rescuing a bird trapped in a pillar started going viral on social media. People got goosebumps after seeing this amazing method of parrot rescue. At around 6 pm on Tuesday evening, a parrot got stuck in a manja hanging from a metro pillar. The locals informed the forest department about this.
On receiving the information, forest officials reached the spot. The height of the metro pillar was high. The forest department contacted the fire department. It was impossible to reach the parrot even through the fire brigade’s ladder.
After strenuous efforts, permission was obtained from the Metro Department for the rescue of the parrot. Harish Kinkar of Forest Department and a metro employee boarded the metro from Gaddi Godown station. After about 100 meters the metro was stopped near the bird stuck in its trap. Both the workers landed on the track. After a lot of effort the parrot was rescued. Due to his injuries, he was taken to Transit Treatment Center.
