Sanskrit scholar Jagatguru Rambhadracharya and renowned poet and lyricist Gulzar have been selected for the Jnanpith Award of 2023.
The Jnanpith Award Selection Committee announced the names on Saturday.
Gulzar is known for his work in Hindi cinema and is considered one of the finest Urdu poets. Earlier he was honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002, Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2013, Padma Bhushan in 2004, and at least five national-level awards.
Rambhadracharya, the founder of Tulsi Peeth in Vhitrakoot, is a renowned spiritual leader and educator. He has authored more than 100 books.
Goan writer Damodar Mauzo received the prestigious award for 2022.
