Bridging Gaps in Healthcare Accessibility

The inception of Datta Meghe Medical College (DMMC) in Wanadongri, Nagpur, along with its affiliated hospitals, Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Superspeciality Institute in Nagpur, has proved to be a transformative force. In just four years, this 895-bedded healthcare institution has emerged as a beacon for the common man, embodying its mission to provide Affordable Quality Health Care.
Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre has gained recognition for its innovative Mahaarogya Camps across Vidarbha Districts, organized in collaboration with the MLAs of respective constituencies. SMHRC has become a trusted healthcare partner for most MLAs, and thousands of underprivileged beneficiaries benefit from the expertise offered during these camps. Patients are referred to SMHRC for free treatment, a reflection of the trust earned by Team SMHRC in a mere two years. SMHRC is also celebrated for its unique community outreach through the Village Adoption initiative.
In a recent philanthropic initiative on Shri. Sameer Meghe’s birthday, MLA for Hingna Constituency, SMHRC, in collaboration with Jeevan Aadhar Sanstha, launched “Doctor on Wheels” or Mobile Clinic. This mobile clinic will cover 12 villages in Hingna Constituency once a week, offering screening services, essential free medicine distribution, health awareness, and referral assistance for the less fortunate. The initiative, led by SMHRC Community Division under Dr. Naresh Gill and Dr. Harshal Mendhe, strategically utilizes a vehicle donated by Shri. Jeevan Jawanjal, Founder of Jeevan Aadhar Sanstha, with manpower and resources provided by SMHRC.
The commendable initiative was inaugurated by DMIHER Founder Chancellor Shri. Dattaji Meghe, in the presence of Smt. Shalinitai Meghe, Shri. Sameer Meghe, Shri. Ravi Meghe, Smt. Vrinda Meghe, Shri. Raghav Meghe, SMHRC Director Dr. Anup Marar, Shri. Kumar Mansukhani, Shri. Jeevan Jawanjal, SMHRC CMS Dr. Vasant Gawande, Shri. Ashwin Radke, Dr. Naresh Gill, Dr. Harshal Mendhe, Dr. Swapnil Inkane, and Dr. Prajakta Khobragade.
