A case of fraud of Rs 21.50 lakh was registered against a man who cheated a young engineer in the name of a government job. The accused has been identified as Giridhar Pandharinath Ambarte (45), resident of Satnami Nagar, CA Road, Kailash Jadhav (50), resident of Khamgaon Buldhana and Amol Patil (60), resident of Kothrud Pune.
According to the information, Vimal Sudhakar Hivse (70), resident of Gajanannagar, Manewada, told the police in her complaint that the accused Girdhar, being a friend of his son Sanjay, used to come to the house often. He always used to claim that big government officials would get government jobs to the youth by citing his identity.
He tricked Vimal into getting his grandson a job as a junior engineer in Mhada. For this, Giridhar stated an expenditure of Rs 19 lakh, out of which Rs 2 lakh was taken as advance. After this, Giridhar along with his two accused associates kept taking money from them from time to time. He took a total of Rs 18.50 lakh. Meanwhile, Vimal’s grandson Yash failed in the exam given for the job.
On this the accused said that he would be passed in the second examination but it would cost Rs 3 lakh. Once again falling prey to the trap, Vimal gave Rs 3 lakh. This sequence continued from October 2021 to October 2023. But Yash did not get the job. As soon as he came to know about the fraud done to her, She demanded her money back from Giridhar and other accused. The accused gave her three cheques, but all three bounced. after that Vimal lodged a complaint with the police. Police registered the case and started searching for the accused.
